The poster showed the results of a trial about the use of Alquernat Nebsui alone and combined with butyrate to improve performance in broilers
IFTA USA Inc., in collaboration with Biovet S.A., has participated in the Symposium on Gut Health in Production of Food Animals, held from October 31 – November 3, 2021, in Missouri (US). In the congress, Dr. David Diez, veterinarian from Biovet S.A., has presented the poster entitled ‘Use of pronutrients alone and combined with butyrate to improve performance in broilers’.
Butyrate is a chemical additive commonly used in poultry farming to improve performance. Pronutrients are active molecules from plant extracts that optimize the functioning of the organs.
Intestinal conditioners are the ones that target the enterocytes and improve the status of the gut mucosa to improve performance and gut health. The aim of the trial was to study the effect of intestinal conditioner pronutrients (Alquernat Nebsui) alone or in combination with butyrate, on performance.
Results showed that pronutrients have a positive impact on broiler’s weight, average daily gain, and feed conversion rate, hence, they improve growth performance. Besides it has a positive impact on the carcass yield.
In conclusion, the study demonstrates that the addition of intestinal conditioner pronutrients is a natural and effective alternative to improve the productive performance in poultry farms, either alone or in combination or butyrate.
